Canada’s annual seal hunt is expected to start on Friday, when hunters will be allowed to kill 275,000 young harp seals. The Canadian government decision has been criticized by animal rights activists who say the hunt is cruel and that these numbers are totally unsustainable. But the Canadian government says that this year hunters must take extra steps to ensure the seals die humanely with the skinning taking place only after it is determined that the seal is dead. Last week, the Conservative Canadian government interfered in the Democratic primary process by lying to the world about Barack Obama’s position on NAFTA.

This CBC report reveals the Canadian government’s lie, and how John McCain and Hillary Clinton repeated that lie in nearly identical language — as though Hillary was running to be McCain’s vice-president.

It also covers the Canadian government’s apology for its interference in American politics, after Stephen Harper’s administration was rocked by the scandal.

UPDATE:
http://www.defendfreespeech.ca/PDFs/HC-Galloway.pdf
Galloway WAS banned for VIVAPALESTIINA AID. This BEGS the question IS the Canadian Government REALLY this HEARTLESS?

The decision to ban George Galloway from Canada seems odd, but now it emerges that the Jewish Defence League (JDL) pressured the Canadian Government to so the action takes on sinister connotations for Canada, why? Because the Jewish Defence League are according to the FBI a Terrorist Group. In its report, Terrorism 2000/2001, the FBI referred to the JDL as a “violent extremist Jewish organization”. This “violent extremist Jewish organization” now it seems has power and influence over the Canadian Government.

May 29, 2008 – Health Minister Tony Clement has made clear the Canadian government’s position on Insite, the safe-injection facility in Vancouver’s downtown East side. The Canadian government intends to appeal a BC court ruling that would allow the site to continue operating beyond June 30, 2008.

Insite is operating as a pilot project under a legal exemption originally granted by the previous government that allows people to carry, traffic and inject illegal drugs in the supervised facility.

The Conservative government extended the legal exemption until June 30, 2008 in order to conduct more research into the the program. Meanwhile, a British Columbia court has ruled that Canada’s current drug laws are unconstitutional when they prohibit possession and trafficking of illegal drugs by those looking for help at facilities such as Insite.

“I cannot agree with Canada’s submission that an addict must feed his addiction in an unsafe environment when a safe environment that may lead to rehabilittion is the alternative.”
– Mr. Justice Ian Pitfield

Clement said the federal government will appeal the recent BC court decision, saying supervised injection sites are well-intentioned but ultimately medically unethical.

I am Canadian and love our social democracy. I have a Republican friend who said "Capitalism provides the greatest amount of personal and religious freedom in relation to any other type of government". It really got me thinking that he must think Christians are persecuted in Canada or something. It’s very puzzling to me and I’d love to hear from a Republican, ideally one from the deep south. Thanks.

At the moment, Republicans are in favour of Canada’s government. We have a conservative government, with similar ideology (on abortion, war, taxes, and healthcare) to the Republican party of the United States. When Canada elects a liberal government, the republicans lose their interest in canada. At times, republicans might agree with our conservative government, but for the most part it is our society that they do not like. We have a very socialistic view on Canadian affairs, such as universal healthcare for everyone. Republicans support insurance companies and private healthcare, the complete opposite to Canada.

Is there anyone knows that how long it takes you to get accepted by Canada government to be a green card?
I’m currently a Chinese citizenship.

It takes a while. Especially for Americans.
